There are at least 2 sides to any illness(es) your pet may encounter:
1. Diagnostics/Diagnosis - Answering "why & how" your pet got this illness
2. Therapeutics - Treating the signs of the illness that are causing your pet to be itchy, uncomfortable, or painful.
Some of the more common diseases you may hear about (with us, or amongst friendly animal lovers) include, but not limited to by any means are:
- Ear infections, "Hot spots," Anal gland abscesses, Bite wounds, etc. (dermatology)
- Lameness, Arthritis, Obesity (orthopedics, musculoskeletal disease)
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Gastroenteritis (Gastroenterology)
- "Kennel cough," Collapsing trachea, Feline asthma (respiratory disease)
- Kidney & Urinary tract diseases (nephrology, urology)
- Liver disease
- Cancer (oncology)
- Heart disease (cardiology)
- Hyperthyroid cats & Hypothyroid dogs (endocrinology)
- Cushing's Disease & Addison's Disease (Endocrinology)
- Glaucoma, Ulcers of the eye, "dry-eye" (KCS), etc. (ophthalmology)
- Retained baby teeth, Proper jaw alignment, etc. (dentistry)
- Allergies, Lupus, Immune-mediated anemia/thrombocytopenia, etc. (immunology)
Surgery
Our surgeries can be broken down into 2 categories:
1. Spay/Neuter (& other elective) procedures
2. Specific/Special surgeries
Spay/Neuter (& other elective) procedures - These surgeries are done only under the most ideal conditions! The various types of procedures include:
- Spay (ovariohysterectomy) & Neuter (castration, orchectomy)
- Dentistry (extractions, prophylaxis, fluoride treatment)
- Growth/Mass removal(s)
- Dewclaw removal (canine)
- Correction of narrow nasal passages (stenotic nares)
- Entropion correction
Specific/Special surgeries - These procedures are done on an as-needed basis. They include, but are not limited to:
- Gingival Flaps (oral surgery)
- Gastrotomy, Enterotomy (G.I. tract)
- Traumatic wounds (dog attacks, hit-by-car injuries, lacerations, etc.)
- Cystotomy (urinary bladder)
- Abdominal exploratory
- Shave-downs (for severely matted cats)
Boarding - Cats Only
Our clients are welcome to board their cat(s) with us. We offer routine boarding & medical boarding (cats requiring medication throughout the day).
